Guardian360
Dear ,

The Guardian360 team experienced the most turbulent year in our existence. The passing of our colleague Alexander has left a profound mark on our team. It is great to see how resilient our team is and that we didn't resign ourselves. Commercially, we have seen great developments; our partner director Jeff looks back on the commercial year 2021 in this newsletter. Technologically speaking, we have also made great progress. Because technical developments follow each other in rapid succession, it is always a surprise for us as well what we will have developed by the end of the year.

The importance of daily scanning, monitoring and detection of criminals in networks has been confirmed again in the last weeks of this year. The Log4j vulnerability has been added to an illustrious list of high-impact vulnerabilities. We wish all incident responders the best of luck in the coming weeks, it will not be a quiet Christmas for them. Unfortunately, this is certainly not the last time such a vulnerability will be discovered. It is expected that discoveries of this nature will follow each other in quicker succession.

Nevertheless, I am optimistic about the future. It may get worse before it gets better, but security specialists around the world are working non stop on solutions. I am convinced that we will be able to turn the tide and increase justice on the digital infrastructure!

On behalf of the Guardian360 team, I wish you a blessed Christmas and a wonderful New Year!

Commercial review 2021

Thanks to all our partners, 2021 was a great revenue year for Guardian360. It was not an easy year. Just like other companies we also felt the consequences of COVID. Mainly the possibility of not having face2face meetings with partners and their customers was not very helpful. There were also limited occasions for organizing partner and customer events. It’s a pity that also for the second time we were not able to organize the yearly Guardian360 Partner Awards. But, despite these limitations we can look back on a good commercial year. More ICT partners, MSP’s, MSSP’s and other partners have found their way to Guardian360. We not only saw an increase of the number of new partners but also the project became much bigger. Contracts with a minimum of 24 till 36 months became more standard.

More XL bundles
Most of our partners saw the benefits of using our XL bundles. Partners bought these XL bundles and then serviced several customers out of these bundles. One of the benefits of using one XL bundle for several customers is a lower buy-in price what results in more margin for the partners. Please contact Jeff or Jan Martijn if you want to know more about this.

2022
We are looking forward to a greater 2022. That year we will expand the number of our platinum partners, will have more focus on other countries like Germany and Belgium and we hope to be able to organize live customer events with our partners.

Technical review 2021

2021 was a challenging year from a technical standpoint. Not only did the number of vulnerabilities in systems and software worldwide increase significantly, the increase in partners and customers meant that the Guardian360 Lighthouse platform had more and more data to process. In addition, it proved to be extremely difficult to find new colleagues, so we haven't been able to develop as much as we wanted.

Nevertheless, I am pleased with what we have accomplished this year! Here are a few highlights:
  • Improved filtering and searching on the index pages.
  • Improved the status of Probes and Hacker Alert Appliances.
  • Prepared automated probe deployment on the SecureMe2 SAM.
  • Introduced scan object exclusions.
  • Improved probe and hacker alert appliance deployments on Vmware and Hyper-V.
  • Internal scanning is optimised so it takes less time to perform a full scan.
  • Probes are modified so they’re scalable. By assigning more resources to the probe the scanning will be performed faster.
  • Scanner scheduling has been altered so the most impactful scanning is being performed outside office hours.
  • Improved dashboard multitenancy.
  • And of course we fixed some bugs.

In 2022 we will focus on making the Guardian360 Lighthouse platform even more scalable. In addition, we want to give our graphical user interface quite an update. For that we are looking for a new colleague, see the post below.
